ADD FAVICON ICON TO BLOGGER URL

12:33 pm |

          To make your blog look proffessional and attractive, other than editing template, hiding navbar adding related post and many other tricks one of the trick is to change your blogs page icon.
Let up start:

NOTE: DOWNLOAD YOUR FULL TEMPLATE AND SAVE IT SO THAT YOU CAN GET BACK YOUR ORGINAL TEMPLATE IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG WHILE EDITING YOUR TEMPLATE.

STEP WISE INSTRUCTION TO ADD FAVICON ICON TO BLOGGER URL

Log in to your Blogger Account

Go to Layout >=> Edit HTML

Mark On Expand Widget Templates Box

Press (CTRL+A) Select All

Press (CTRL+C) Copy

OPEN NOTEPAD

Press (CTRL+V) paste

Press (CTRL+F) and search below given code in the template:

<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>

Now just below the above found code place this code:

<link href=' URL OF YOUR ICON FILE ' rel='shortcut icon'type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/>
NOTE: Replace URL OF YOUR ICON FILE with your icon url.
Now save your template. Once your template is saved view your blog and make sure to refresh the page. You will see your icon on the left hand top corner of your blog.
Most of the blogger uses .ico image format but you can also create an image under the .png or .gif format. You just have to make sure that the size of the image is either 16 x16 pixels or 32 x32
pixels.

NOTE: If you are using image format other than .ico that is .png and
.gif then following modifiantion should be made.

In a PNG format image, the link to be inserted is:
<link href=' URL of your icon file ' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/png'/>

In a PNG format image, the link to be inserted is:
<link href=' URL of your icon file ' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/gif'/>
If you have any query then feel free to ask by leaving your precious comment.

First I just wanted to say that your site has been extremely helpful, it's slowly helping me to setup blog much easier. I wanted to know if you had a solution to my problem. I have a favicon that is hosted at favicon and inserted the code into my blogger site. The favicon shows up and works perfectly fine if the site is accessed through blogspot address. But, I have registered a domain and forwarded my blogspot address to my new domain .com address, which I purchased. The site is forwarded and masked with the address, but the favicon does not appear when accessed through the main, forwarded address purchased. I Was wondering if you knew a way for the favicon to show up on main address.
